ABOUT MATLYN CONSERVATION SERVICES

The organization is named for its founders, Matt and Lynn and their love for nature conservation.
Before turning to conservation work, Matt spent more than 10 years working as a road patrol deputy — work built on careful observation, documentation, and a steady sense of service. Matt also has over three decades of experience as a Financial Manager including Audit work.  Matlyn Conservation Services seeks to apply that same discipline and accountability to protecting Michigan’s nature preserves and land conservation areas. Matt also enjoys nature photography as a hobby which leads him into many nature preserves across the State of Michigan.

Lynn is a professional grade-school teacher and tutor with a passion for native plantings and creating habitat that supports local wildlife — from pollinator gardens, natural ponds and to the trees she’s helped nurture to maturity. That same patience and attentiveness she brings to the classroom, watching for what each student needs to grow, carries over into how she notices where habitat is thriving, where it needs help, and what small interventions early make the biggest difference over time. Lynn also enjoys painting the scenes of nature that she sees in her minds eye.
